Singapore Casino Entry Levy

Casino entry levy collected by the two casino operators - Marina Bay Sands and Resorts World Sentosa in Singapore have amounted to about $70 million as of May 10. What does this imply? Singapore Citizens or Permanent Residents must have a valid Casino Entry Levy to enter the casino. Day levy is $100 for 24 hours and annual levy is $2000 for 12 months.

Case 1:assume all are annual levy : $70mil/$2000 = 3,5000 Singapore Citizens and PR have visited the casinos

Case 2:assume all are day levy : $70mil/$100 = 700,000 (Singapore Citizens and PR have visited the casinos 700,000 times )

In just a few short months, about 3,5000 to 700,000 have visit the casinos!

Just the casino levy alone is 70 million, but how much money have Singapore Citizens and PR lost at the casinos?
Who knows...

Famous Tau Sar Piah in Balestier

There are many Tau Sar Piah shops in Balestier. But the most original and authentic one is Loong Fatt Tau Sar Piah 龍發豆沙饼 which is located at 639 Balestier Road. They sell both salty and sweet Tau Sar Piah at the outlet, freshly baked. Both are tasty and cost only 60 cents each. They usually sell out by around 4pm, so if you happen to be in Balestier buying lightings for your new home, remember to buy some Tau Sar Piah back to try.
